I FINALLY DID IT

Can you tell what this is?

I submitted three of my lumen prints to be included in a juried group show at a local gallery.

I had so much fun preparing these prints! I even enjoyed framing them.

Among 150 works of art, only 7 (including my 3) were photography related. The others were oils, acrylic, watercolor, fibers, alcohol inks, and drawings.

Next step: submit some pinhole or silver gelatin black and white to an all-photo show.

:-)

I love taking risks.

Best of luck Jen.

Glad you're putting your work out there to be seen.

Very nice. Good luck! I'd hate to be a "judge". ;)

Thanks FJ. The winners were already announced. No ribbons for me. :-)

Ah, was this the same contest we talked about a few months ago? I though that one had been strictly "photography"?

Regardless, it's nice that you're willing to share your work with a larger audience. Most of else seldom progress to that point.

I'm not sure what contest we talked about. There have been a few that I considered, but none that were local.

This experience has been interesting. I will say that the feeling of disappointment over not being recognized by the jurors is nowhere near as bad as the feeling of regret I've had in the past for not even entering the contest. :)

I'm not sure what contest we talked about. There was a website with a lot of the entries on it... about six months ago?

And I agree, better to have "loved and lost" than never loved at all. ;)

FJ, I can't remember! dang, my memory....is bad. :p OH! I just remembered!! It was an online contest for film shooters to win a Leica. Yes, that was fun! I guess that was a little stepping stone for me to enter a brick and mortar show. :-)

Thank you, Z! I'll keep doing it. It's a total thrill!
Here's hoping you and yours have a wonderful Christmas!
