This is fantastic!  Using a very analog method in a very modern way...with beautiful results.

Now I'm in the mood to experiment with film.

I tried to upload more Italy photos last night, but Blogger wouldn't cooperate. More reminiscing later...

love. cancer. photography. what do you think?

This was the deli in a small town called Ambra, about three miles from our agriturismo. There was a wonderful aroma of pepper, salt, fresh meat, and cheese. This store was so clean and lovely, and the guys behind the counter were so sweet and patient with us.

Espresso....I liked it best with a shot of wiskey...caffe coretto.

This was our first morning in Tuscany. I only slept a few hours after we arrived, because I wanted to see the sunrise. I honestly couldn't take in the reality of this place. I'd never seen anything so beautiful.

This was several days into the trip. I woke up early one morning, and took a walk by myself. I walked up this road for over a mile, with red poppies to my right, along with the grapes. There were dogs to the left, guarding a house. They barked at me as I walked by.

This was my favorite view. I stood here each day, trying to memorize everything.

These photos aren't the best quality. I took three cameras on this trip: a cheap little pocket point and shoot (these photos), my vintage Brownie Hawkeye, and my old Sony DSLR. I honestly didn't focus much on photography. I tried to be very much in the moment, to soak it all in. I don't regret a thing.

Nightstands VII

This project was fun, and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of participation. I really do have a good group of friends and co-workers. If I could change one thing, I would take the photos myself. Still, this was a great experience and has inspired me to keep going!

“Judging others makes us blind, whereas love is illuminating. By judging others we blind ourselves to our own evil and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Nightstand III

Project Nightstand continues!

As I explained the idea to my friends it became clearer to me.

Each nightstand is portrait of the owner.

I think it's beautiful, cluttered or clear.
