Can you spot my little friend?

Yes. Didn't notice at first. I'd rather talk about squirrels than heap hatred on Nelson Mandela. :p

I can't believe it! I was able to see the squirrel without looking at the comments section.

The squirrel is very difficult to see.

Awesome!! I didn't see it until I had cropped and enlarged the photo. :-)

What camera are you using these days, Jen.

Nikon d90 here.

But I'm struggling with sharp focus. I need to read up on single servo mode vs. continuous mode and figure out why my focal point is off.

We're in the middle of an ice storm here, but when I get a chance, I have several rolls of color film to drop off. I'm enjoying the Holga!

Btw, I enjoyed the radio show. It's good to hear y'all agree on issues of liberty.

It's a curious position to take, Jen. If you do not agree, then you must defend him. Talking about squirrels won't change anything.
Jen said…
I did defend him.
Actually, I didn't defend him as much as I pointed out that sometimes, to do good requires doing "bad".

I don't engage in debates with hard-headed know-it-all's, because it's a waste of time.

I am SO not the person I was a few years ago. ;-)

Talking about squirrels lowers my blood pressure.
I saw your post at FT's, and tossed in my $.02, for what it was worth.

And yes, I'd MUCH rather talk about squirrels IF I'm able to make a plug for a squirrel's redemptive qualities as a formidable nutcracker! ;)

I'm glad the conversation kept going. Fascinating what happens when more holistic thinkers come on the scene.

I stayed up late reading about MAndela's history, but it's not easy to find a balanced account.

Maybe you can talk the little creeps in my attic into leaving.

Duck,
Maybe you could use mothballs as a deterrent to the squirrel population in your attic.

Drive them out, then seal up the attic!

I finally noticed that little squirrel..except I thought it was a rooster :-)

As for Mandela; I'm doing two posts tomorrow and one's a kind of different viewpoint I've developed these last few days..more positive.

Jen, I don't believe continuous should be a concern unless your prime point of focus is moving. It's just a way to keep the moving subject focused until actual shutter release.

Mothballs, huh? We've never had trouble with squirrels. We've had mice, turtles, crows, cattle, horses, armadillo, and a ferret...all in our yard at one time or another.

One morning I opened the front door to see six or seven cows grazing just feet from the front door.

I've been reading up on Mandela all weekend, Z, and I'm feeling less and less positive. :-(

Duck, somehow my autofocus settings got messed up and I couldn't adjust the focal point. I put the setting on multi-point single servo and it's good again.

I used continuous with the kids, though.

Have you considered shooting with film? I'm feeling inspired by Leiter. Also just read about Fred Herzog.
