Actually, this was just the sun setting in the Tularosa Basin, on the other side of the mountains. We had a rain storm come through and the clouds provided a beautiful sunset.

But yes, there were fires to the north of our cabin soon after we left. I believe Ruidoso had several thousand acres burn. :(
