Andrei Tarkovsky

I'm amazed by Andrei Tarkovsky's Polaroids. 

This blog post is a nice introduction to Tarkovsky and how he felt about his art.

I haven't seen any of his films...have you? What do you think? Do his Polaroids resonate with you?

His photo's are very much like paintings by the Impressionists, they have a soft-focus quality that makes the image very dream-like.

Tarkovsky can be demanding.

A good place to start is Ivan's Childhood which was released during a brief openness in Soviet film
under Khrushchev.

His films are very tightly framed and he sure did know how to use a camera.

Yes, very dreamy! I'm guessing that's one reason he loved Polaroid... those cameras were perfect for soft focus work.

Hey Duck! I'll look for Ivan's Childhood online. I'll be curious to see if I enjoy his movies as much add I do his still photography.
