I thought about getting mad about it. But why? At whom?

I cannot tell you how much I underestimated this disease before.

The thing is, why does it have to be my children? Why not me, instead? THAT'S what pisses me off...

I hope that we find a new normal soon....

My DIL is Type I. She's in her 30s. It's still not easy for them, but life does go on.

Hope you find that new normal... and that it isn't so far away from before as you may have feared.

Thank you, FJ. That's exactly what I need to hear. A volunteer from the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation called me the other day. She's in her 40's and was diagnosed with Type 1 when she was 13. She is doing well and has two healthy kids. I think I need to hear some success stories.

It is difficult, Jen but I assume you have decent medical coverage.

I have no experience with diabetes but I have known diabetics who have done well by attending to their medication.

I have a co-worker who has CF, and he recently had a double lung transplant. Talk about finding a new normal! He's a trooper...
