Was there ever a time when you felt certain?

Do you miss it?

I suppose that it all depends... as I am usually "very certain" in all my "uncertainty".

I think I know what you mean.

Having been certain, and now not knowing much of anything, I have to wonder if it goes full-circle.

Ps, everywhere I turn lately, the discussion is about "imagination", and it makes me think of you and nicrap.
nicrap said…
Could you elaborate on the last line?
Jen said…
I seem to remember a few conversations about imagination, or lack thereof. It was a long time ago, so I don't recall details.
Jen said…
What are you paranoid about?
nicrap said…
Lol! Where did that come from?
Jen said…
Oh, who knows?!

Have I mentioned how frustrating this medium is for me? :-)

You just seemed to pop in and out so quick. As if you didn't plan on staying for tea, but just wanted an answer.

Projections abound. :p
nicrap said…
Heh. I have a sick person on my hands. Perhaps that's why.

How are you? And how is our indomitable FJ? ;)
nicrap said…
Or should i say "indubitable" Fj...? ;)
Jen said…
Funny you say sick. I have a wicked cold, and when I'm sick, I get weird.

Fj seems alright. He's a lot less cantankerous than usual, which I enjoy.

And how about you??

Here's something I've been wanting to ask: do you see your life as a drama? Do you go around putting out fires, or is it more steady and smooth? I think I might know the answer...

I think it's fairly smooth. Not that there aren't difficulties, but you take it in stride, accepting things (yourself) instead of struggling too much.
nicrap said…
No, there is constant work [of self on self.] :)
Sounds like i need to work on my cantankerousity... ;)
nicrap said…
Yes, if you think the assessment is correct.

:)
nicrap said…
No, there is constant work [of self on self.]

Sorry, Jen. if my answer sounded a bit short. But that was not my intention. All i meant was that there is at the same time constnt work of self on self [as against "struggle"]. :)
Jen said…
No worries, I fell flat asleep!
I know you work on your self. That's clear. I meant that you seem to have a more developed self, individuated, possibly, without too much drama.

Does that make sense?
Jen said…
Less drama is a good thing, in my opinion.
Jen said…
I have acquaintances who are in a constant state of chaos. Not the kind of struggle with self, but actually a self-generated mess that surrounds them all the time. I think they are accustomed to the high stress levels and don't know how to break the cycle.
Jen said…
Fj, PLEASE don't work on your cantankerousity! :-)
nicrap said…
Haha! Now i understand why good guys finish last. :)
Jen said…
He could probably say the same (or worse) to me.

Now i understand why good guys finish last.

Last is good. :)

But in this medium, do we really know each other at all?

Knowing is hard enough face to face, but here???

Oh well.
nicrap said…
Hell no. You are too good to offend anyone. :)
Jen said…
I'm afraid you might be right! :-)

(Despite my best efforts to not give a damn, I still do.)
Jen said…
How are you doing, nicrap?
nicrap said…
Cooking meal for three. :)
nicrap said…
Heh. Nothing but very simple fare. Daal, sabji, chawal. :p
Jen said…
I'm sure it will be wonderful. Enjoy!
Thersites said…
Are you vegetarian, nicrap?
nicrap said…
Not at all, FJ. And yet, practically yes, since we hardly cook non-veg at home, maybe 5-6 times a year, and i rarely eat out. But i am very fond of Hyderabadi mutton biryani. :)
nicrap said…
Indeed. You should plan a visit to India. I know a joint where you get the best biryani. I will take you there. :)

P.S. You could ask Jen and NG too. :)
Thersites said…
Careful, i'll be retired in ten years, and may take you up on that offer. ;)
nicrap said…
If i am still here, and i intend to, you will be most welcome. :)
Jen said…
I would love to visit India. A friend of mine just booked her first trip.
